Rahu, in thai mythology, was once in form of a half Asura half Naga where Asura is a Giant and Naga is a great snake. He was one of 9 gods that depicted the planet in solar system. However, Most recognized story about him is that he who succeed of stealing the Amrita ( Nectar of Immortal ) from gods then drank it. However, Surya (god of sun) and Chandra (god of moon) found out and scared that he would defeat Devas (Gods). They went to Vishnu (God of Solving), he throw his chakram to kill Rahu. Therefore Rahu were cut into 2 parts, but not dead by the power of Amrita. The upper part which was an asura then called Rahu. The lower part which was a great snake then called Ketu.

In Thai astrology, Rahu has influenced on people to do bad thing in their mind without hesitating, also drives people into hard situation that can not be avoided. Those who has been possess by Rahu will need careful mind and consider all their steps of life. Thais believe that paying respect to Rahu will help them avoid unavoidable situation or even stop it.

Rahu is representing by 'Black' color then the most suggesting of paying respect to him by offering 'Black' foods, drinks or desserts. These 'Black' products are usually offer in number of 8 (the number of his order in solar system). Moreover, Good definitions things will remind those with good thinking. For Example, by offering

1. Black grapes/ Blackcurrents will result in multiply the result of the business like the fruits themselves

2. Black bean (as nut or dessert) will result in growing of your wishes as when you growing them into useful vegetable
